Checking out E-books:  A How To
The library offers E-books and Audiobooks through Bridges (aka neibors)  as a way to supplement our collection in print. 
Ebooks can be read on many different electronic devices like ereaders, your computer, your tablet, even your mobile device.   Bridges requires you to use Overdrive to download an Ebook so, You will need to make sure your device has the Overdrive App download prior to trying to check out an e-book. 
The first step in checking out an E-book is to find a title you would like to read.  You can do this by going clicking on Catalog (above) or going to  Once you on the catalog page, you will need to log in by entering your card number and password in the upper right hand corner. 
Next, you will locate a book by searching in the catalog by title or author.  The catalog will provide you with  a list of books available.  You will looking for the title to begin wiht Bridges Audio Book or Bridges eBook : 
After clicking on the title to select it you will see the screen below.  You will click on download this item. 
A new Bridges screen will load (see below.)  On this screen you click on the borrow button.
Your screen will then change and you will have link for go to bookshelf.  The Bookshelf hold all electronic materials you have checked out.   Your E-book will be on your bookshelf for two weeks.  
If you click on "Go to Bookshelf"  you will see the screen below:
At this point, you can either click on "read" or  "download" button.  If you click on "read" the book will open in your browser to read.  If you click on "download" it will ask if you select a format Kindle book or EPUB eBook.  From this point forward the steps to download you eBook become specific to the device you plan to use.  You can read the book on multiple devices as long as you use the same app and log on on all of your devices.  For help with your specific device you can visit
